iPod replacement battery

My iPod was dying. It’s a 4Gb, some two and a half years old, iPod mini. dscf0001.JPGI had been noticing for some time that the battery lasted less and less, but since a couple of months it was too much: after an hour and a half or two hours of use, the battery went to half charge, and then after a couple of minutes more the iPod went suddently silent. Few times could I use it for more than three hours without recharging. So I finally decided to buy a replacement battery.

dscf0002.JPGI’m not going to explain the full battery-replacing process as there are lots of pages about it already, some even with videos. Suffice to say that it’s quite easy, almost everything fits together by pressure or with screws. I’ve bought this 750 mAh battery at BatteryUpgrade.com. The delivery to Spain took about ten days, and the battery comes with two small screwdrivers (but without instructions). All in all I’m happy with the service, so a big thumbs up for BatteryUpgrade.

I’ve been listening to my iPod with its new battery for around ten hours during the last week and the battery charge is slightly below half-charge, so I would say it should last around 17-18 hours, which is even more than the original battery!
