Slashdot is runnung a story about mySQL migrations and how to maintain special characters like tildes, ñ, etc. We’ve all had this kind of problem at one time or another, having to restore a BD from a mysqldump backup and finding that all the special chars get mangled because of a wrongly selected encoding (UTF-8, latin1, etc.)
